If this sounds like your walks

  • Your dog pulls like a freight train the second the front door opens.
  • You've stopped taking them to the beach because you can't hold them near other dogs.
  • Your shoulder or lower back hurts after every walk.
  • You've tried a back-clip harness, a slip lead, maybe a head halter. Nothing stuck.
  • Bikes and runners on the shared path make you tense up before they even get close.

The mechanism

Why the clip position changes everything

Most harnesses clip on the back. That gives your dog a full-body brace to lean into, which is exactly how a sled dog is set up to pull. Clip the lead at the chest instead and their own momentum swings them sideways, back towards you. The pull stops working. There's nothing on the neck and nothing on the face.

  • Early mornings and hot evenings

Lightweight, breathable webbing and a padded chest plate that doesn't hold heat. Reflective trim for the pre-dawn lap.

  • Beach, sand and salt

Rinse it under the tap, hang it in the shade, it's dry by the next walk.

Back clip for a free-moving walk when the track's quiet; front clip when the bikes come through.

  • Big, strong dogs. Small dogs too.

Staffies, kelpies, labs, shepherds, cattle dogs and greyhounds all fit, XS to XL. Top grab handle for a quick hold at a road crossing, and a size guide that tells you which size to pick, not just a chart.

Beach, sand, bush track. Rinse it, hang it, walk again tomorrow.

What it does, and what it doesn't

It gives you immediate mechanical control: less leverage for your dog, less strain on you. It doesn't train your dog by itself. Ten minutes of loose-lead practice on a quiet street in the first week is what turns "easier to hold" into "walks nicely". We send you exactly how to do that.

  • Flat collar

    Where the force goes: throat.

When the dog pulls: coughing, strain.

    In the heat: fine.

    Learning curve: none.

    Best for: ID tags.

  • Back-clip harness

Where the force goes: chest and shoulders, straight forward.

When the dog pulls: dog can brace and pull harder.

In the heat: depends on padding.

    Learning curve: none.

Best for: dogs that already walk nicely, running.

  • Head halter

Where the force goes: muzzle and neck.

When the dog pulls: head turns; many dogs paw it off.

    In the heat: often disliked.

Learning curve: days to weeks of desensitising.

Best for: some very strong dogs under a trainer.

FAQ

Questions, answered honestly

Will it stop my dog pulling on the first walk?

Most dogs pull noticeably less on the first walk because pulling stops getting them anywhere. Some determined dogs take a few walks. That's why you get 60 days, not 60 minutes.

Is this a replacement for training?

No. It's a control tool that removes the leverage while you teach loose-lead walking. We send you "The First 10 Walks" so the two work together.

Does it twist to the side?

Twisting almost always means the harness is a size too big or the two sides aren't tightened evenly. Fit by chest, adjust both sides, two fingers under each strap. Deep-chested dogs: see the fitting guide.

My staffy is all chest. Will it fit?

Yes, pick by chest measurement and tighten the belly strap fully. If it doesn't sit right, swap sizes for free.

How do returns work?

Email us within 60 days. We send a prepaid Australia Post label, you drop it at any post office, we refund the full amount once it's scanned in. Size swaps are free.

Delivery times?

We ship within one business day. Australia Post standard: 2–4 business days metro, 3–6 regional, longer for remote WA/NT. Express (A$9.95): 1–3 business days.
